Often I sit and wonder how my life will be after I graduate, having almost finished my degree at the University of Nairobi . You know those many questions of what next, where to start, how to get there, when to start?
I mean, for those who know me I have never been the one to be employed. Not that I have any problem with it, but I prefer being the boss. However I still feel like am stuck in that one same position that I was, as I was making new years resolutions. I am one who strongly believes that if there are no job opportunities you should create them! Don't get me wrong, yes I have been doing soul searching all year round, but I have created so many apparent job opportunities for myself that I think I should specialize in the creation of job opportunities. Like really! I have been able to do research on things I like doing here and there so as to start my business and I have started most of them, tasting the waters, so as they say. I have realized so many mistakes that I have been doing and what I should improve. Remember the saying, as long as you doing something you love and doing it well, someone will notice.
Reading blogs like Esther Kinuthia's/Miss I blog ( http://missindependent.co.ke/) can make you very motivated and jealous, I mean who doesn't want to become like her. . .successful blogger at 22, Business associate at Google, top 40 under 40 women 2014 and the list goes on. Not that I want to be a blogger or anything of that sort, in fact writing is definitely not on my strong points, she is however quite very inspiring and its among the few blogs that I would actually take a few minutes of my time to read. Maybe one day she will be interviewing me. Having started a company of my own while at 18 and employed at the same time, I find being an entrepreneur more compelling as you go through the whole experience of being tough nut.
All in all what am trying to say so many people are out there without a plan after university, you send your cv to thousands of companies with no reply whatsoever, yet you done with your degree, your folks are pressurizing you to get employment and that's when you feel the real pressure of tarmacking. Do not be despaired though as there so many ways in which you can get by. Keep posted as I share on my journey. . .
